Coach Peltonen's Quotes
“ The Edgewood game was a tough loss because we played well enough to win. We out shot them, out played them (especially in the 2nd half), and out hustled them. We haven't been able to do that against a solid team like Edgewood so far this season. One of the phrases our players came up with for this season's team mission statement was “a team with a goal beats a team with no goals”. The Edgewood game proved the literal meaning of this phrase as they won because they earned a goal and we didn't. I did come away from this game feeling good as we played well. We moved the ball , did a better job keeping possession than we have in past games, and created scoring opportunities, although none that we're clear cut ones. We worked hard and battled throughout the game. As a coach, you can't ask for a whole lot more than that from your players (except for a goal or two)."
"Our players had some good input prior to the game regarding reasons why we may be starting out games flat. We put some of their ideas into action and started off the game energized and playing with intensity. Game balls go to Everett Zank, for his tireless work up and down the wide areas and Kenny Pieper, for his tenacious defending."
