(River Forest, IL) - Marian University dropped a 71-60 NAC contest to Concordia University-Chicago on Saturday afternoon at Geiseman Gymnasium. With the defeat, the Sabres are now 6-9 overall and 3-4 in the NAC. The Cougars moved to 8-6 overall and 5-2 in the NAC.
Marian led three times by a single point in the first half, but trailed 43-36 after the half. The Cougars were able to shoot an impressive 63% (17-for-27) from the floor in the half to help gain the lead. Marian shot 15-for-32 (47%) in the half.
In the second, the Sabres drew to within 55-53 as Kevin Hudak (Ashwaubenon, WI) hit a three-pointer, but the Sabres were never able to get any closer. They trailed 59-56 with 4:22 to play as Hudak hit another three, but it was not enough as the Cougars went 8-for-8 from the line in the last 1:18 to ice the game.
Hudak led the Sabres with 12 points, while Jeff Harris (Calumet Park, IL) added 11.
Deontay Young led the Cougars with 18 points.
The Cougars held a 39-26 advantage on the boards.
