(Fond du Lac, WI) - Marian University committed 23 turnovers on Wednesday evening and fell 73-56 to Concordia University-Wisconsin. The Sabres (4-8, 1-3 NAC) have now lost three straight. The Falcons moved to 6-6 overall and 3-2 in the Northern Athletics Conference.
The Sabres led by as many as five points on four occasions in the first half, but trailed 30-29 at the break. The Sabres shot 11-for-25 (44%) in the first half, while the Falcons shot 11-for-29 (38%). The Sabres had eight players score in the first half.
The Falcons opened the second half on a 15-5 run in the first 4:32 to grab a 45-34 lead. Marian was never able to get closer than seven points the rest of the way.
The Falcons finished the game shooting 25-for-55 (46%), while Marian shot 21-for-51 (41%). Marian out-rebounded the Falcons 34-32 in the contest.
Marian was led by Logan Rankin's (Algoma, WI) 14 points and 6 rebounds. Jeff Harris (Calumet Park, IL) and Bryan Ashbeck (Wabeno, WI) each had 8 points, while Kevin Hudak (Ashwaubenon, WI) led the Sabres with 5 assists.
Kyle Barth led the Falcons with 16 points.
Marian is back in action on Saturday, as they will host Benedictine University. Action is set to begin at 4:15 PM.
