(Fond du Lac, WI - Marian University erased a 1-0 deficit in the third period on Friday evening as they erupted for three goals to defeat UW-Superior. With the victory, Marian moved to 5-1 overall and will now play MSOE on Saturday and Sunday to complete the weekend.
The Yellowjackets scored at the 7:19 mark in the first to take a 1-0 lead. The game would stay that way until the third period when Marian's attack awoke.
Justin Cormier (Calgary, AB) scored off a
Mike McCurtain (Eagle River, AK) assist at the 9:59 mark in the third. Less than two minutes later,
Brendan Hull (Calgary, AB) scored his team-leading fourth goal. His eventual game-winner was assited by
Tommy Fitzpatrick (Ft. McMurray, AB) and
Nathan Brummitt (Calgary, AB). Matt Williams (Lacombe, AB) finished the game with an empty-netter as the horn sounded. Hull and Fitzpatrick assisted on the tally.
Marian's
Alex Bjerk (Roseau, MN) tallied 34 saves in the victory.
Tomorrow's contest against MSOE will be played at the Kern Center in Milwaukee. Face-off is set for 7:05 PM.
