Marian trailed 26-15 with just 5:39 to play in the first, but closed the half on a 12-4 run to get within three at the break. Marian shot just 30% (10-for-33) in the half, while the Falcons shot 42% (13-for-31) in the half.
In the second, the Sabres grabbed their second lead of the game at the 14:44 mark and expanded it to 40-32 with 12:23 to play. The Falcons gradually cut into the lead and tied it at 44-44 with 6:05 to play. The two teams exchanged leads, with the Falcons grabbing the lead for good with 3:06 to play.
Marian missed three free throws in the last 2:03, which hurt their chances.
