(Fond du Lac, WI) - Hamline University defeated Marian University on Friday evening 5-1. It was Hamline's first contest of the season, while Marian fell to 0-2. 

After a scoreless first period, the Pipers grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute of the second period. 

The third period belonged to the Pipers as they lit the lamp four times. Marian's only goal was scored at the 12:53 mark in the third by Cassie Thompson (Anchorage, AK). Megan Sesing-Gomoll (Fond du Lac, WI) assisted on the goal. 

Erin Kastner and Jessica Hunt both scored three points for the Pipers. 

Hamline out-shot Marian 38-23 in the game.
