(Hancock, MI) - The Sabres have now won nine straight games as they defeated Finlandia University 6-2 on Saturday afternoon. Marian outshot the Lions 35-21 in the contest and improved to 14-6 overall and 13-2 in the MCHA.
Chris Thompson (Woodbury, MN) put the Sabres on the board 10:02 into the first period as Todd Collins (Whitby, ON) and Lane Boswell (Calgary, AB) assisted on the goal. The Lions evened the score later in the first period.
In the second, Nick Henkemeyer (Prior Lake, MN) and Ryan Hitchcock (Butte, MT) both scored to give the Sabres a 3-1 lead heading into the third period. Collins assisted on Henkemeyer's goal, while Adam Freeman (Wauwatosa, WI) and Nick Cinquegrani (Rolling Meadows, IL).
In the third, Brendan Hull (Calgary, AB) scored twice and Jason Ford (Milford, MI) added a goal. Hull's first goal came on the power play.
Brendan Roberts (Calgary, AB), Dakota Dubetz (Chestermore, AB), and Collins all recorded two assists in the contest.
