(Sheboygan, WI) - Kim Kriese (Stevens Point, WI) enjoyed a record-breaking day on Wednesday in Marian's 9-3 victory over Lakeland College. The senior midfielder broke the all-time scoring record in the Northern Athletics Conference and also tied the all-time goals scored record in the conference. Kriese scored three goals to give her 57 for her career, to go along with 135 career points. She broke Dominican's Mayra Camacho's scoring record and has now tied her in goals scored.
It didn't take long for the Sabres to find the back of the net in this one.
Shayni Paul (Menasha, WI) scored just 1:59 into the game off a corner kick from
Mariel Bartolutti (Fond du Lac, WI).
At the 20:55 mark, Kriese netted her first goal. Less than two minutes later,
Taylor Hozeska (Hartford, WI) made it 3-0.
Kriese tallied another goal in the first half at the 27:20 mark as she scored off a corner kick from Bartolutti. Marian's last goal of the period came in the 39th minute as
Danielle Donnermeyer (La Grange, IL) scored her third goal in the last two games. Lakeland added a goal late in the period to make it 5-1.
In the second,
Hailey Wisner (Sussex, WI), Mollie Tennessen (Kaukauna, WI), Hozeska, and Kriese all added goals. Kriese's record-breaking goal came at the 83:19 mark.
Tiffany Erdman (Wausau, WI) picked up the victory in goal, recording five saves in her 45:00 minutes of work.
Marian is back in action again on Saturday. They will play their first home game of the season against Dominican University. Action is set to begin at 2:30 PM.
