Marian comes up with big win over Edgewood

Box Score (Fond du Lac, WI) - Marian University rebounded nicely from a tough loss over the weekend with a 2-0 victory over Edgewood College on Tuesday. The Eagles came into the contest with just one loss on the season, but the Sabres won behind two goals in the first period. Marian is now 4-3 overall and 3-1 in the Northern Athletics Conference. 

Kim Kriese (Stevens Point, WI) got the Sabres going early in this one as she scored off an assist from Mariel Bartolutti (Fond du Lac, WI) just 1:56 into the game. With the goal, Kriese tied the career goals record at Marian with 58. She now needs just eleven more points to shatter the all-time scoring mark at Marian. 

Taylor Hozeska (Hartford, WI) recorded a big insurance goal at the 31:24 mark. Bartolutti recorded her second assist of the evening on the goal. 

Marian's Tiffany Erdman (Wausau, WI) played solid in goal once again. She recorded five saves in the shutout victory. 

The victory snaps a twenty-four game losing streak to Edgewood College. 

Marian is back in action on Saturday, as they will host Rockford College at noon.
