(Duluth, MN) - Marian University led 3-1 heading into the third period on Saturday, but couldn't hang on, falling 4-3 in overtime at the College of St. Scholastica. The Sabres are now 0-15-1 on the season.
Jackie Parvey (Anoka, MN) gave Marian a 1-0 lead just thirteen seconds into the game off assists from
Devan Lesch (Chicago, IL) and
Alex Jewett (Clarence, NY). Later in the period, Jewett scored her first collegiate goal, giving Marian a 2-0 lead.
Leading 2-1 in the second, Lesch scored in the fourth minute to make it 3-1. The Sabres could not hang on however, giving up two goals in the third and then the Saints scored 1:16 into the extra period for the win.
Melissa Calder (Fort Frances, ON) recorded 42 saves in the game for Marian.
