(Mequon, WI) - Marian University continued their winning-streak on Saturday evening, defeating Concordia-Wisconsin 6-1. The Sabres dominated play, outshooting CUW 36-12 and they scored once on the power play and once shorthanded. Marian is now 12-5 overall and 9-3 in the MCHA. They hold a four point advantage over Lawrence University in the MCHA North Division.
Tom Glomski (Waupun, WI) and
Matt Williams (Lacombe, AB) put Marian ahead with goals in the first period. Williams scored his 13th goal on the season with the Sabres skating a man down.
Lane Boswell (Calgary, AB) assisted on both goals.
In the second,
Brendan Hull (Calgary, WI) scored his 11th goal of the season to make it 3-0. Marian then scored three times in the third to pull away from the Falcons. Boswell,
Dakota Dubetz (Chestermore, AB), and
Zack Fray (Cambridge, ON) all lit the lamp in the final stanza.
Alex Bjerk (Roseau, MN) recorded 11 saves in the game for Marian.
Marian head coach Jasen Wise is now one win shy of 100 for his career. He will get a chance to reach the milestone on Friday, as Marian hosts Lake Forest College.
