WATERTOWN, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – The Marian University women's volleyball team concluded the 2011 campaign with its second straight Northern Athletics Conference win, a five-set thriller over Maranatha on the road (15-25, 25-22, 15-25, 25-17, 15-7) this evening, Oct. 25.
The bounced back from a 2-1 set deficit to win the final two sets en route to the win.
Elizabeth Zutz turned in her best performance of the season with 15 kills on 30 attempts, while adding four blocks as well.
Carlie Kinsey added 11 kills, while
Katie Reimer chipped in 39 assists and
Ashley Zumbrock made 17 digs.
The Sabres conclude their season with an 8-22 overall record, 5-7 in NAC play, Maranatha fall to 17-6 (7-5 NAC).
Both sets Marian dropped were by scores of 25-15, but the Sabres battled back and finished strong with a .348 hitting percentage in the final set.
Torey DeLozier of Maranatha finished with a match-high 27 kills on 72 total attacks to go along with 18 digs. Laci Peterson added 18 kills as well.
