(Hancock, MI) - Finlandia University used a big first period on Saturday evening to defeat Marian University 5-2 in NCHA play. The Lions scored three times in the first en route to the victory. Their two goals in the second helped close out the victory. 

Finlandia out-shot Marian 24-23 and got three-point games from Alisha Ellertson and Kelly Poelstra in the victory. 

Marian's two goals came from Rachel Mullendore (Amery, WI) and Katie Lindsley (Fond du Lac, WI) as both scored their first goals of the year. Lindsley's goal was her first career point. 

These two teams will face off again tomorrow in Hancock.
