(Adrian, MI) - Marian University advanced to the MCHA Championship game on Saturday evening with a convincing 9-2 victory over MSOE. Marian broke open a 1-0 lead with five consecutive goals in the second period. They will now play Adrian College in a rematch of last year's MCHA Championship game for the right to go to the NCAA Tournament.
Brendan Hull (Calgary, AB) got the scoring started just 2:02 into the first period. That was just the start of a big game for him as he recorded a hat trick.
In the second,
Robbie Bailey (North Vancouver, BC), Dakota Dubetz (Chestermore, AB), Justin Cormier (Calgary, AB), and Hull all scored, with Cormier scoring twice.
Hull completed his hat trick 1:26 into the third with
Matt Williams (Lacombe, AB) and
Tommy Fitzpatrick (Ft. McMurray, AB) also scoring.
Hull added two assists in the game for a five-point night, while Dubetz tallied three assists.
Josh Baker (Canton, MI) stopped 28 shots in the victory.
Marian will now face Adrian College on Sunday at 2:00 PM EST. The two teams split a pair of games in November in Adrian.
