(Lisle, IL) - The Sabres dropped a pair of five-inning, 8-0 contests at Benedictine University on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles showed why they are undefeated and atop the NAC standings as they held Marian to just a combined three hits in the doubleheader.
Marian is now 9-20 overall and 8-8 in the NAC. The Eagles moved to 26-4 overall and 14-0 in the NAC.
In game one, the Eagles scored in every inning and closed it out with a run in the bottom of the fifth. Marian's only hit came in the second as
Brooke Haen reached on an infield single.
In the second game, Benedictine scored six runs in the bottom of the second to break open a 1-0 game.
Emily Boehnlein and
Sam Braun recorded hits for Marian.
Cherise Waltz gave up eight runs in the loss, but just one earned run as Marian committed four errors.
