FOND DU LAC, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – The Marian University women's volleyball team hosted the Marian Triangular and split its two matches against UW-Stevens Point and Beloit College inside Sadoff Gymnasium today, Sept. 17.
The Sabres were victorious in the event finale, taking down the Buccaneers in four sets (25-18, 17-25, 25-21, 25-17). That followed a three-set defeat (12-25, 18-25, 25-27) to the Pointers in the opening match of the day.
The Sabres move to 3-10 overall after the split and have won three of its past four matches dating back to back-to-back conference victories last week.
Junior setter
Katie Reimer turned in a pair of double-doubles, today, as she notched 24 assists and 10 digs in the loss to UWSP and 21 and 15, respectively, in the win over Beloit. Sophomores Kaitlin Jarvis and
Elizabeth Zutz each turned in solid days offensively, combining for 36 kills in both matches as each had nine kills against UWSP and eight in the win over the Buccaneers.
Kathryn Braunling turned in a team-high 19 digs against Beloit while
Erika Heberer added 17.
Carlie Kinsey tallied a team-high 14 digs against the Pointers.
Marian will have stay home and host Ripon in a non-conference match Wednesday, Sept. 21. The Sabres and Red Hawks will face off at 7 p.m.
