FOND DU LAC, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – The Marian University women's soccer team bounced back from an overtime defeat in its last outing to win its third match in the last four tries with a 2-0 shutout over the visiting Concordia University Chicago Cougars in Northern Athletics Conference play at Smith Fields this afternoon, Sept. 24.

Leisa Conn gave the Sabres a lead they would not relinquish before Laura Maly added one as well to sum up the game's scoring. Both freshmen continue to make for a dynamic scoring duo for the royal blue and white this season as they have combined for 13 of the team's 18 goals so far this season.

Marian improves to 5-4 overall, 3-1 in the NAC with the win, while the Cougars fall to 3-4 (0-4 NAC).

In earning their third shutout of the season, the Sabres outshot CUC, 13-9, while putting 11 shots on goal to CUC's eight. MU garnered four corner kicks to three for the Cougars.
