Men's Soccer Silenced by Concordia Wisconsin

Box Score

MEQUON, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) - Hoping to continue their success from Saturday, Marian continued conference play on Tuesday, October 15 against Concordia Wisconsin. With the hopes of a berth into the conference tournament dwindling, the Sabres hoped for a positive result and a much needed three points. Much to their demise, the Falcons poured in four unanswered goals to defeat the Sabres.

In the opening 45, the Falcons commanded the pitch, putting seven shots on goal, earning four corner kicks and scoring twice. Jordan Moehn tallied the game-winner in the 27' on a hard strike from the left side. The lead would double in the 40' on a free kick blast from Nicolas Bocanegra for his third of the year.

Trailing by two, the Sabres received the nail in the coffin in the 52' on an Own Goal. Concordia would add the fourth and final score in the 79' on a shot from Bobby Russ.

The loss drops the Sabres to 4-8-1 on the year and 1-6 in the NACC. For Marian to keep their postseason hopes alive, they'll need a victory on Saturday when they host Aurora. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
