Green Knights Walk Away with Weekend Sweep

Box Score

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) - Marian fell at the hands of St. Norbert for the second consecutive night, moving to 4-12-1 overall. Two first period goals by the Green Knights set the tone, and put the Sabres in a hole that they couldn't climb out of Saturday at the Blue Line.

On their first power-play of the night, St. Norbert made quick work, scoring just 12 seconds into the man-advantage. Lauren Roethlishberger talied her sixth goal of the year on an assist from Megan Crandell. Shortly thereafter, Henriette Ostergaard added her third of the weekend to double the St. Norbert lead heading into the first intermission.

In what would be a chippy second period that saw a combined 29 penalty minutes between the two teams, Marian was unable to capitalize on the four power-plays they were awarded, while Roethlisberger added her second of the night at 11:01.

The Green Knights put the seal on the weekend sweep with a goal at 12:48, as Danielle Rozon scored her first of the season on assists from Katie Conlon and Andrea Senne.

Marian will play St. Norbert one last time next Saturday night at the Blue Line after having Friday night off. Puck will drop at 7 p.m.
