Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – The Marian University women's volleyball team faced a stiff test in reigning NACC regular season champion Edgewood College and fell short in four sets (25-19, 22-25, 25-15, 25-18) inside Sadoff Gymnasium, this evening, Oct. 14.
The Sabres (7-15, 3-4 NACC) evened up the match with a 25-22 win in the second set, but the Eagles (14-11, 5-2 NACC) responded by closing it out with convincing efforts in the third and fourth sets to take the win.

Senior Kathryn Braunling and sophomore Jessica Roberts added seven kills apiece, while freshman setter Amber Baker dished out 26 assists and added a team-best 13 digs.
Down 1-0 to the team that ended their season in the first round of the NACC tournament a season ago, the Sabres showed resilience and responded with a strong second set. The Sabres led by as many as six points and staved off the Eagles, who tied the set at 22-22. Baker blocked one down to put her team up one before Zuelke registered back-to-back kills to win the set.
In the third set, the Sabres tied it at 7-7 before the Eagles went on a five-point rally that gave them enough momentum on the way to a 25-15 set win.
Edgewood flexed its muscles in the fourth set with a .378 hitting percentage, pounding out 17 kills against just three errors en route to a 25-18 win.
The Eagles hit .224 for the match, led by Elizabeth Evans' 15 kills on a .520 hitting percentage. Jordan Winkler added 11 kills, while Carley Reuter finished with nine. Haley Schwenn and Rachel Thomsen split time as setters, posting 28 and 21 assists, respectively, while Rachel Tesch turned in a team-best 25 digs in the win.
