Sabres Unable to Catch Muskies, Fall 2-0

Box Score

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – The Marian University men's soccer team went quiet offensively and fell victim to two second-half goals to host Lakeland College in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play, this afternoon, Oct. 21.

The Sabres (5-11, 2-7 NACC) fell for the third straight time and managed just three shots, including two on target, in the loss to the Muskies (5-10-1, 2-6 NACC).

Lakeland got off 12 shots and 10 on target, scoring two late goals in the 63' and 86'.

The first half was fairly even with the Muskies holding just a two-shot advantage and the Sabres held the hosts scoreless heading into the break.

Lakeland then controlled most of the second half and finally cashed in with a goal in the 63'. Brian Hermann registered his first of the year on an assist from Mirko Tadic.

Tadic then gave the Muskies some insurance when he scored with 4:06 left in the game on an assist from Franco Herrera.

Marian goalkeeper Bryce Woldt made eight saves in the loss and will be honored this Saturday, Oct. 25, when the Sabres host Benedictine on Senior Day at Smith Field. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
