Box Score WHITEWATER, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – The Marian University men's soccer team concluded the 2014 season with a 3-0 setback to the eighth-ranked team in the North Region, UW-Whitewater, on the road, this evening, Oct. 28.
The Warhawks (11-3-3) took a 1-0 lead into halftime before adding two insurance tallies in the second half to secure the victory over the Sabres (5-13).
Ty McCoy got into the act in the 10' with his fourth goal of the year to put UWW on top 1-0. Assists were credited to Sam Kuchenreuther and Sam Novak.
Shots were 13-2 in favor of the hosts at the half and that discrepancy grew as the game wore on and the Warhawks piled up 16 more shots in the second half. They would wind up with a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal by game's end.
Jordan Wilkins and Ryan Reid added goals in the 52' and 58' to put UWW comfortably in front for good.
Senior Bryce Woldt and junior Jameson Hoerter split time in net, each playing 45 minutes and combining for 11 saves.
UWW was led by Alex Buchman and Josh Rohde with the latter playing the majority of time, making two saves in 60 minutes of action.
