MEQUON, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) - Hoping to right the ship following Friday night's loss to Concordia Wis., Marian took the ice on Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Ozaukee Ice Arena. Freshman Maddy Dixon made her first career start, but was unable to keep Concordia Wis. at bay, as Marian fell 5-2.

The Falcons got on the board first, scoring at 2:51 of the first period. Alexis Machuga put home the pass from Veronika Metanova and Chelsea Regan. With 40 seconds left in the first, junior Brittany Syms tallied her first goal of the year with freshman Lydia Cloud tallying her second assist of the season.

Concordia Wis. regained the lead in the second period on a goal from Brandi Muller. She would be the only addition to the scoresheet in the second, even though each team had two power-play opportunities.

The comeback attempt would be stifled early in the third, as Concordia added two more in the first ten minutes of the period. Cloud cut the lead to two, but that would be as close as Marian could get. The Falcons reestablished their three-goal lead on a goal by Brittany Sticha at 16:20 of the third.

Marian will host UW-Stevens Point next Wednesday before wrapping up the regular season at home against Adrian and Lake Forest. The Class of 2014 will be honored before Saturday's game against Lake Forest. This year's senior class consists of Erin Dunphy, Sophie Schieldt, and Amanda Reimann.
