FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Despite a second half rally, the Marian women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision against Edgewood Wednesday evening in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action at Smith Field.

EC (6-5-0, 3-2-0 NACC) scored twice in the first half and went into the break with a 2-0 lead.

MU (3-9, 0-5-0 NACC) fought valiantly in the second half. After being outshot 4-1 in the first half, the Sabres' outshot the Eagles 11-2 and had numerous scoring opportunities.

Alexis Peterson and Jaimie Anderson each recorded two shots on goal, while Molly Kovarik, Jenna Wojahn, Erin Butzke, Kayla Bernardi, Kayla Prosser and Karissa Preston had scoring opportunities.

The Sabres return to the pitch Saturday and play host to Alverno at 2:30 p.m.
