Box Score MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia University Falcons used three power play goals to shutout the Marian University women's hockey team dropping the Sabres to 2-3-0 record with an 0-2-0 NCHA ledger.
The Sabres and Falcons opened the game evenly in the first period with neither team able to find their way on the scoreboard and each squad firing 10 shots on goal. The Falcons opened the scoring three minutes into the second period and added two power play goals to give CUW a 3-0 lead after two periods. Concordia added an insurance power play goal at the end of the third period with the Sabres unable to find a way past CUW goalie Christin Pattengale.
The Falcons finished the game with a 33-26 shots advantage and held MU 0-6 on the power play. Emily Everson finished with a team-high seven shots with Courtney Wittig sending five shots on goal.
Ali Glazer started in net for the Sabres and stopped 17 of the 20 shots she faced before Lindsey Strainis made her first career appearance making 12 saves on 13 shots in 25:23 of action.
Marian closes out the week traveling to Adrian Friday, Nov. 13 for a 3 p.m. puck drop.
