Box Score 2 DUBUQUE, Iowa - Marian University women's volleyball (2-15, 1-2 NACC) fell to Luther and Dubuque in straight sets to finish play at the NACC-IIAC Crossover Challenge.
The Sabres played tight to open their match against Luther but weren't able to come up with a win in an opening set that finished 27-25. The Norse were able to control the front of the net the remainder of the match as they went on to record 12 total blocks. Marian would fall in the final sets by scores of 25-19, and 25-14.
Jessica Roberts had a team-high nine kills with Katrina Jansen recording a team-best 13 digs. Amber Baker was able to produce three aces for Marian from the service line.
Roberts would once again lead the Sabres with 10 kills in the second match of the day against Dubuque, but the Spartans went on to win with scores of 25-17, 25-22, and 29-27. Marian had three players reach double-digit digs with Jansen and Baker recording 12, and Catelyn Brehm chipping in 11.
Marian returns home Tuesday, Sept. 29 for a 7 p.m. non-conference match up with Beloit.
