Box Score MADISON, Wis. – Nicole Paulus scored a game-high 21 points and was 5-of-7 from behind the 3-point line but Edgewood used a fast start to dispel Marian 66-53 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action Wednesday evening at the Edgedome.
EC (4-11, 3-7 NACC) outscored MU 24-11 in the first quarter, however, the Sabres rallied in the second quarter to double up the Eagles 15-7. The home team went into the break with a 31-26 lead.
At 7:03 in the third quarter Paulus connected on a 3-pointer to give the Sabres a 32-31 advantage. However, the Eagles closed out the quarter on a 17-6 run and went into the fourth quarter with a 48-38 lead.
The Sabres were efficient scoring the basket and hit 43 percent (22-of-51) of their shots from the field. MU also grabbed 30 rebounds and scored 28 points in the paint.
Jessica Roberts and Brittany Bauman each scored seven points.
Sierra Jiran scored 18 points to lead the Eagles.
MU (4-10, 2-7 NACC) returns to the court Saturday at Dominican.
