FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Marian University women's soccer team was unable to bounce back from a slow start and MSOE topped the Sabres 3-0 Monday afternoon in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action at Smith Field.
Sara Travia scored on a breakaway three minutes into the first half and the Raiders (12-3-1, 7-0-0 NACC) went into halftime with a narrow 1-0 advantage.
MSOE added two goals late in the second half to close out the contest.
After allowing the opening goal the Sabres (4-9-0, 2-5-0 NACC) nearly tied it moments later when Carley Schmit sailed it wide.
Nicole Wojahn added two shots and Molly Kovarik, Jenna Wojahn and Alexis Peterson each recorded a shot attempt.
The Sabres return to the pitch Wednesday at Concordia Wisconsin.
