Box Score LISLE, Ill. – The Marian University women's soccer team was unable to bounce back after a slow start Benedictine topped the Sabres 5-0 Saturday afternoon in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action.
The contest was evenly matched for the first 30 minutes, but BU (7-6-3, 5-2-2 NACC) scored twice in the waning moments of the first half and went into the break with a 2-0 advantage.
The Eagles added three goals in the second half to close out the contest.
BU outshot the Sabres (4-11-0, 2-7-0) by a 16-10 margin, however, both teams were even at six shots a piece in the first half. Karissa Preston recorded a team-high three shots on goal.
The Sabres return to action Monday at UW-Oshkosh and closeout the regular season Wednesday at home versus Wisconsin Lutheran.
