ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Marian University men's soccer team traveled to Rockford and came away with a 1-1 tie Saturday afternoon in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action.

After a scoreless first half, RU (5-6-2, 1-4-1 NACC) found pay dirt at 71:29 in the second half and the Regents gained the first lead of the contest.

Five minutes later Cristian Rodriguez buried home a rebound off a hit crossbar and tied it at 1-1.

MU (4-6-1, 2-3-1 NACC) controlled the tempo throughout the contest. The Sabres outshot the Regents 29-4, including a 15-3 margin in the second half. The Blue and White kept the pressure on in the overtime periods, outshooting RU 6-0.

Grant Meerdink and Ramon Sutherland each recorded three shots on goal.

MU returns to the pitch Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Lakeland and return home Saturday, Sept. 15 vs. UW-Whitewater.
