Box Score MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Marian University women's soccer team received goals from five different student-athletes and the Sabres topped Alverno 5-0 Sunday afternoon in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action.
Briana Pawlowski put the Sabres on board at 33:34 in the first half and MU went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
The Blue and White opened the second half with an offensive flurry and scored three goal in under five minutes. Alexis Peterson started the onslaught at 49:05 and buried home her team-leading fifth goal of the season. Two minutes later Molly Kovarik found the back of the net and at 53:17 Aeleesa Medina hit pay dirt as the Sabres opened up a 4-0 lead.
Carley Schmit added a goal late in the second half to closeout the scoring.
MU (3-8-0. 1-4-0 NACC) controlled the offensive pace and outshot Alverno (5-6, 1-4-0 NACC) 14-10, including a 10-7 margin in the second half.
Alysha Kallas made three saves and earned her third shutout victory of the season.
The Sabres return home Wednesday, Oct. 12 and play host to Lakeland at 7 p.m. at Smith Field.
