Sabre offense struggles in return to action

Box Score

DULUTH, Minn. - Marian University women's hockey (2-4-0, 2-3-0 NCHA) struggled to find a rhythm falling on the road at St. Scholastica with a 4-1 final.

The St. Scholastica power play was able to put the Saints up early with a pair of goals in the first period sandwiched between sophomore Hailey Miller's team-high fifth goal of the season.  Senior Rian Lennon and freshman Ally Fox each assisted the goal as Marian entered the first intermission down 2-1.

The Sabre offense would struggle in the second period only managing four shots on goal as MU also saw St. Scholastica extend their lead to 3-1.  Marian was able to bounce back in the third offensively outshooting St. Scholastica 12-6 in the period, but the Sabres were unable to find the back of the net with the final score ultimately settling at 4-1.

MU managed to outshoot St. Scholastica 25-22 for the game, but the power play unit would come up empty on five opportunities.

Marian returns home this weekend hosting Concordia Moorhead Nov. 26-27 from Rink A of the Blue Line Family Ice Center.
