Box Score MEQUON, WI- Marian University women's basketball (0-3, 0-1 NACC) fell to Concordia Wisconsin to open NACC play with a final score of 62-38.
It was a back and forth affair early in the first quarter with the Sabres and Falcons trading baskets. Both squads would be tied at 12 at the end of the quarter.
In the second quarter, the Falcons would jump out on the Sabres early claiming a 20-14 lead which led to Sabre timeout. Following the break, the Falcons would continue their hot shooting taking a 32-18 lead into halftime.
Concordia Wisconsin would stretch their lead in the third quarter capitalizing on the Sabre mistakes. Cold shooting and the Falcon offense would be too much for Marian as they fell by a final score of 62-38.
Junior Brandi Bender led the way for the Sabres as she finished with 14 points and three steals. Freshmen Brianna Horton also reached double-digits with 10 points.
Marian will welcome Maranatha Baptist to Sadoff Gym Tuesday, Nov. 29 for a 7 p.m. tip in the home opener for the Sabres.
