Box Score ROCKFORD, Ill. - Marian University women's basketball (1-6, 0-4 NACC) jumped out to a fast start but Rockford was able to rally and defeat the Sabres 85-71 in NACC action.
Marian opened the game scoring five unanswered points and took an early 10-5 lead. The Regents would come back and connected on their next three possessions en route to taking a 17-15 lead into the first break.
Rockford continued their hot shooting in the second quarter to close out the half shooting 16-31 (.516) as they entered halftime with the lead.
Rockford expanded their lead in the third quarter, opening with a 13-4 run, as they went on to outscore the Sabres 27-18 in the quarter. The Regents finished the game shooting 35-62 (.565) which propelled Rockford to the 85-71 victory.
Senior Nicole Paulus led the way in scoring for the Sabres finishing the game with a team-high 23 points. Freshman Brianna Horton chipped in 14 points of her own along with five assists and six rebounds.
