Box Score LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Marian University women's hockey (7-15-0, 4-11-0 NCHA) skated well with No. 3 Lake Forest but a big third period from the Foresters lifted LFC to a 5-1 victory to open the final road series of the season.
The Foresters opened the scoring with a first period goal before Sarah Bier lit the lamp for her second goal of the season at the 13:02 mark of the second period. Sheila Blower assisted the score for her second assist on the season to bring the score to a 1-1 draw heading to the final period.
The final stanza would be all Lake Forest as they managed four goals on eight shots with one of their tallies coming on the power play.
Shots were fairly even with LFC outshooting Marian 27-23 with Ali Glazer making 22 saves in the game. Courtney Wittig and Bier led the team with four shots on goal apiece.
Marian concludes the series with Lake Forest tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 13 at noon in the final road game of the season.
