ROCKFORD, Ill. – Junior Jessica Roberts scored a team-high 16 points but Rockford hit a free throw with five seconds remaining to edge Marian 66-65 Saturday afternoon at the Seaver Center.

MU led 56-46 with 8:45 remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Regents closed the gap to 63-62 with 1:37 remaining in regulation.

Mallorie Getzelman then hit a 3-pointer to give the Regents a 65-63 lead.

With 18 seconds remaining sophomore Hunter Godfroy delivered on a jump shot and knotted it at 65.

MU forced 25 turnovers which the Sabres turned into 29 points.

Godfroy helped out with 13 points and grabbed a career-high eight rebound.

Getzelman scored 24 points to lead RU (3-20, 1-17 NACC).

MU (6-17, 4-14 NACC) returns to the hardwood Tuesday at MSOE.
