The Marian softball team finished the second day of the Finlandia Dome Tournament with a 2-1 record and completed the event with a 3-1 overall mark.

MARQUETTE, Mich. -- MU rallied to defeat Simpson 8-6.

The Storm put up five runs in the top of the second inning, but true freshmen Taylor Gerlach belted a three-run homerun in the bottom of the seventh as the Sabres walked off with the win.

Emily Gorges delivered a two-run shot in the fifth inning and Olivia Hartley connected on a two-run homerun in the sixth inning.

Gorges earned the win and went the distance. She allowed six hits, six runs and struck out four.

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Shannon Huray threw a complete-game shutout as Marian rolled past Finlandia 8-0.

Huray allowed two hits, no runs and fanned seven batters.

Hartley went 1 for 1 with 3 RBIs and a homerun and Tiffani Castillo finished 1 for 2 with a solo homerun.

Lindsey Strainis batted 1 for 1 and drew two walks.

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Lake Superior State defeated Marian 10-2.

Nicole LaBeck and Sara Terrian each added RBIs.

Hartley went 2 for 2 with a run scored.
