Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Marian University men's volleyball (9-10, 5-5 MCVL) saw the strength of No. 3 Carthage falling to the Red Men in straight sets with set scores of 25-11, 25-14, and 25-17.
Carthage recorded a hitting percentage of .338 with 36 kills, and entered the match as the national leader in blocks per set recording a total of 19 block assists in the win.
Marian progessively got better as the match went along and were led by Ben Walter who had six kills with a .417 hitting percentage. From the back row, Aaron Wendels had a team-high seven digs, while Joey Dittman assisted on 18 of the 21 Marian kills.
Marian plays their third consecutive match against a ranked opponent when they welcome No. 14 MSOE to Sadoff tomorrow, Saturday, March 19, with a 2 p.m. first serve. The Raiders won the first meeting between the two squads in four sets, but later vacated the win leading to the first win in program history for the Sabres.
