Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Marian University men's soccer team had a bounce go the wrong way in overtime Saturday afternoon.
With one minute remaining, Saint Mary's Jared Wolt tossed a long throw in to a scrum in front of Marian's Tyler Schultz and the ball ricocheted off a Sabre defender and the Cardinals escaped with a 1-0 victory.
Prior to that, the contest was evenly matched.
The shots on goal was nearly even, with SMU holding a narrow 16-13 advantage. However, each team recorded eight shots in the second half.
10 minutes into the first half Ian Chacon suffered an injury and Schultz, a true freshman, filled in admirably and finished with four saves.
