Marian women's hockey rallies but falls to CSS

Box Score

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Marian University women's hockey (0-3-0, 0-1-0 NCHA) rallied from a 3-0 deficit but fell to St. Scholastica by a final of 3-2.

Freshman Calle Bye opened the scoring for the Sabres with her first career goal at the 12:35 mark of the second period when she lit the lamp on the power play.  Junior Hailey Miller and sophomore Morgan Bolin assisted the goal and Bolin managed to cut the Sabre deficit down to one at the 10:00 mark of the third period with her third goal on the year.

St. Scholastica would open the game fast, however, scoring the first three goals of the game, which proved to be too much.  Two of the Saint goals came in the second period with the second coming on a power play opportunity.

Junior Lindsey Strainis bounced back after a slow start to make 36 saves including all 15 shots she faced in the third period.

Marian closes out the series against the Saints tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m. from Blue Line.
