Sabre women's hockey shutout by Saints

Box Score

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Marian University women's hockey (0-4-0, 0-2-0 NCHA) couldn't light the lamp as the Sabres suffered a 2-0 home loss to St. Scholastica.

Junior Lindsey Strainis made 27 saves in goal for the Sabres, while the Marian penalty kill also had a good game limiting St. Scholastica to one goal on six opportunities.  The lone power play goal for CSS came at the 1:09 mark of the second period.

Marian totaled 25 shots as they were outshot by a slim 29-25 margin.  Junior Abbey Dokken led the Marian offense with a team-high four shots.  Fellow junior Alexis Peterson went 5-2 in the faceoff circle for the Sabres.

The Sabres were in the game for the majority of the contest but a Saint goal midway through the third period gave the Saints a multi-goal lead that the Sabres would be unable to battle back from.

Marian travels to Concordia Wisconsin for a weekend series at the Falcons Nov. 10-11 with the puck dropping at 4:30 p.m. in the opener.
