Falcons start fast to defeat Sabre women's basketball

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Marian University women's basketball (2-5, 0-3 NACC) was held to 14-54 (.259) shooting from the field in a 67-35 loss to NACC rival Concordia Wisconsin.

Senior Brandi Bender led all scorers in the loss with 17 points, while junior Rachel Serchen chipped in 11 points.  The Sabres would play well in the second and third quarters offensively where they scored 13 points in each stanza but were limited to nine points combined in the first and fourth quarter.

Down in the post, four different Sabres would grab four or more rebounds led by junior Molly Magnus who had a team-high seven boards, two on the offensive end.  The Sabres would also force 14 Falcon turnovers led by Bender who would grab two steals.

The Falcons would have their best quarter come in the third when they scored 22 points shooting 10-20 (.500) from the field. 

Marian hits the road Saturday, Dec. 9 where they will take on Edgewood for a 4:15 p.m. tip.
