Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Marian University men's volleyball (3-7, 2-4 MCVL) struggled to find a rhythm falling to North Central in straight sets with set scores of 25-22, 25-20 and 25-14.
After starting out the first set slowly, Marian battled back with a 10-1 run that drew both of North Central's timeouts and gave the Sabres a 12-11 lead. The Cardinals answered, however, using a 6-2 run to retake the lead and closed out the set scoring four of the final five points.
The second set was similar as North Central drew the first significant lead but the Sabres were able to rally and knotted the game late at 19-19. North Central then finished out the set strong, though, scoring six of the final seven points.
The Cardinals would hit .550 in the third set as they were able to cruise to the straight sets win.
Sophomore Joey Dittman assisted 26 of the 30 Marian kills with five digs, while junior Aaron Wendels had a team-high eight kills.
Marian hosts a triangular with Wittenberg and Cardinal Stritch tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 18, with first serve scheduled for noon between Wittenberg and MU.
