Marian drops Slaats Cup opener to No. 2 Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. - Marian University women's hockey (10-15-1, 7-11-0 NCHA) couldn't find the back of the net in game one of the NCHA Slaats Cup semifinals falling to No. 2 Adrian 4-0.

The Bulldogs would net a pair of goals in the first and second period with two of their tallies coming on the power play.  The Marian offense was unable to find a rhythm being outshot 54-15 for the game.  Senior Emily Everson led the Sabres with four shots on goal, while sophomore Hailey Miller was 8-19 in the faceoff circle.

Sophomore Lindsey Strainis (8-11-1) took the loss between the pipes but had a career-high 50 saves.

Marian plays Adrian for game two of the NCHA Slaats Cup semifinals tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 25, with the puck dropping at 1 p.m. (CST).
