Box Score MILWAUKEE - Marian University men's volleyball (6-11, 3-7 MCVL) closed out a tough conference weekend falling to MSOE in straight sets with scores of 25-18, 25-13 and 25-18.
It was a 9-3 run in the first set after a 9-9 tie that allowed the Raiders to take a comfortable 18-12 lead that they were able to maintain to close out the first set. Similarly, the second set saw the Sabres trail 8-6 before the offense of MSOE went on a 10-2 run to take an 18-8 lead and take the second set. Marian fought back after facing an early deficit in the third, but an 8-3 run late in the set allowed MSOE to complete the sweep.
MSOE finished with a .446 hitting percentage and had nine blocks at the net.
Junior Aaron Wendels led Marian with seven kills, while sophomore Cullen Liberski had a match-high 10 digs to lead the back row.
Marian is next in action hosting Olivet Friday, March 10 at 7 p.m. from Sadoff Gym.
