Box Score BELOIT, Wis. - A quick start in both halves led Beloit to a 3-1 victory over Marian University women's soccer (3-2-0, 0-0-0 NACC) in non-conference action.
The Buccaneers would open the scoring in the 13th minute in a half that was closely contested. Beloit would hold a slim 9-8 shots lead but Marian managed to send half of their shots on goal.
Beloit once again started fast scoring a pair of goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half as they opened up a 3-0 advantage on the Sabres. Junior Reilly Louko scored her fourth goal of the season unassisted in the 65th minute but this was all MU could manage in a 3-1 defeat.
Marian outshot the Buccaneers 10-4 in the second half to finish with a 19-12 lead for the game. Louko sent a team-high four shots towards the frame, while sophomore Alyssa Jones (0-1-0) took the loss in her first start of the season in goal for MU making four saves.
Marian returns home before opening NACC play when they host UW-Oshkosh Monday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. from Smith Field.
