Sabre women's soccer eliminated from NACC Tournament

Box Score

MILWAUKEE - Marian University women's soccer (8-10-1, 5-5-1 NACC) held the lead at halftime, but a pair of second half goals from MSOE eliminated the Sabres from the NACC Tournament.

The Sabres played well in the opening half despite being outshot 10-8.  Senior Alexis Peterson opened the scoring for the game at the 35:50 mark for her ninth goal of the year.  The goal was a result of a give-and-go with freshman Olivia Meerdink that gave Peterson enough space to find the back of the net.

Marian had more shots on frame than the Raiders in the first half but the second half proved to be all MSOE.  The Raiders would limit Marian to only three shots in the half and scored in the 54th minute and 81st minute to earn a spot in the NACC Tournament semifinals.

Freshman Amy Birner (4-4-1) took the loss in goal for the Sabres despite making 11 saves, eight of which came in the second half.
