Sabre women's hockey drops NCHA opener to CSS

DULUTH, Minn. - Marian University women's hockey (0-3-0, 0-1-0 NCHA) fell to St. Scholastica 3-0 on the road in their NCHA opener.

The Sabre offense was able to create plenty of opportunities as Marian finished with a 28-23 advantage in shots.  Junior Ally Fox led the Sabres with five shots in the game, while fellow junior Morgan Bolin added four shots.  Marian had an especially strong third period where they were able to outshoot the Saints 12-6 for the period.  

Senior Lindsey Strainis (0-3-0) had a strong 20-save performance only allowing two goals with the third Saint goal being an empty-netter.  Both goals Strainis allowed came in the second period in a span of just 2:20.

The Sabres and Saints close out the series tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 3, at 4 p.m.
