Sabre men's basketball unable to overcome slow start

RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Marian University men's basketball (2-2, 1-1 NACC) fell to Concordia Chicago 98-83 in NACC action.

Concordia Chicago came out shooting and the Sabre defense didn't have an answer as the Cougars went 17-29 (.586) from the field.  Marian managed a 44.6-percent field goal percentage in the opening half led by sophomore Logan Hamilton who had nine points off of 4-7 (.571) shooting.

Both offenses took over in the second half as Marian scored 51 points off of 20-41 (.488) shooting.  The Cougars were able to match the Sabre offense, however, and Marian was unable to overcome their slow first half start.

Marian closed out the game shooting 33-74 (.446) from the field including 8-24 (.333) from beyond the arc.

Sophomore Tavaris McCullough finished with a game-high 18 points to lead the Sabres, while Hamilton and fellow sophomore Tristan Van Ess chipped in 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Marian returns home to take on MSOE Saturday, December 1 for a 4:15 p.m. tip from Sadoff Gym.
