Marian women's basketball shows consistency versus Edgewood

Box Score

FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's basketball (1-16, 1-11 NACC) showed consistency offensively in all four quarters but fell to Edgewood 79-62.

The Sabres led for the opening minutes of the first quarter before the Eagles were able to take a slim lead.  Junior Carley Wilson was able to close out the quarter on a high note for Marian beating the buzzer with a deep three-pointer to set the score at 18-15.

The Edgewood offense had a strong second quarter to extend on their lead but a 6-2 run from Marian kept the deficit manageable at 43-30.  Then in the second half, the Sabres would only be outscored by four points but were unable to rally from the slow second quarter.

The Sabre defense was able to force 21 turnovers in the defeat, while only committing 12 on the offensive side of the ball.

Senior Rachel Serchen once again paced the offense going 7-12 (.583) from the field for a team-high 18 points, while freshman Paris Harris chipped in 13 points.  Harris also added three assists and four steals to her stat line.

Marian hits the road for Benedictine Saturday, January 19 for a 2 p.m. tip in NACC action.
